SAFARI (2 Days 1 Night)
2 days with an overnight stay in the Game Reserve at a Luxury lodge.
Day
1 You shall be collected from the Hotel or Guest
House early in the morning and travel by Luxury Microbus
via the beautiful Magaliesberg Mountains, past the scenic
Hartbeespoort Dam through Northwest Province arriving
at the Pilanesberg National Park in time for a full
day's game viewing. Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant,
Giraffe, Hippo, Rhinoceros, Zebra and a host of other
antelope species are there to be seen in this 55000
ha Paradise. For the bird watcher this is one of the
best places to view our wonderful birds. Some 340 species
are to be seen in Pilanesberg. Besides the animals and
birds the scenery in this Game Reserve, which is located
in an ancient volcano crater, makes it one of the most
beautiful reserves in Southern Africa. The Pilanesberg
is Malaria Free. Overnight accommodation is in one of
the Luxury Game Lodges located within the Game Reserve.
The lodge has a swimming pool, tennis courts and beautiful gardens
to walk in. Rooms are fully air conditioned, with T.V., tea and coffee
facilities, lock up safe for your valuables, bath room en-suite.
A buffet dinner, 2 light lunches, and a sumptuous breakfast are included.
Day 2 We
awake early today to go out at dawn on an early morning
game drive into the reserve to try and see some of the
nocturnal predators that may still be active from the
night before. Lion, leopard and hyena are most likely
to be seen either at dusk or early morning. After a
couple of hours we return to the lodge for breakfast,
check out of our rooms and continue with a full day's
game viewing before returning to the Johannesburg area
in the late afternoon.
Kruger National Park Luxury Safari including the Panorama Route
(5 Days)
Itinerary
Day 1 The Tour departs
from the Johannesburg / Sandton area after breakfast and travels
eastwards towards Mpumalanga.
Our route takes us via Witbank, Belfast, Dullstroom, and Lydenburg.
During the afternoon we travel through some of the most beautiful
scenery in South Africa, stopping at the Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes
Luck Potholes and some spectacular waterfalls.
Overnight is spent at a luxury Guest House in the quaint town of
Graskop.
Day 2 Today we explore
Pilgrims Rest, the historical 19th Century mining town where a huge
gold rush took place. People seeking to make their fortune poured
into the valley from all over the world searching for gold.
After learning of the history of Pilgrims Rest we cross over the
mountains once more and head to "Gods Window" from where,
if the weather is good, one can see over the escarpment and the Kruger
National Park almost to the Mocambique coast some 100 kms away. This
is the most spectacular view you could ever imagine.
The rest of the morning is spent visiting some interesting view sites,
curio stalls and historical monuments. After a lunch in Graskop,
"The Pancake Capital", we proceed eastwards to the entrance
of the Kruger National Park. The Kruger Park is enormous, being almost
400 kms long and 60 kms wide at its narrowest point. This makes the
area an animal's paradise being larger than the state of Israel.
In the late afternoon we check in to our Kruger Park Rest camp Accommodation.
Day 3 After an early
breakfast we set off for a full day's game viewing in the reserve
seeking out the famous "Big Five" (leopard, buffalo, lion,
elephant and rhino) as well as many other species like giraffe, zebra,
many different Antelopes as well as hundreds of species of birds.
Binoculars are carried in the vehicle for each passenger to use while
out on safari.
Lunch today is at a picnic site in the bush.
As the sun sets over the bushveld we return to our camp accommodation
to relax, listen to the last sounds of the day which are replaced
by the calls of the nocturnal animals and birds.
Dinner is served in the camp restaurant.
Day 4 Today we rise
before dawn to be at the camp gate as it opens. The idea of an early
start is to enjoy the sunrise in the bush and maybe spot some of
the nocturnal Big Cats before they go to rest up during the heat
of the day. Early morning in the Kruger Park is a very special experience.
After a couple of hours we return to the rest camp for breakfast
and to check out of our bungalows as
today we head south to the Malelane area where we will spend the
remaining 2 days at a luxury Guest House overlooking the Crocodile
River and into the Kruger Park.
The Guest House has an elevated wooden deck on which to sit and watch
the game from as they come down to the river to quench their thirst.
Dinner tonight is served under the stars or in the dining room, weather
permitting.
Day 5 This the last
day of the Safari is a relaxed day with breakfast at the guest house,
a mornings game viewing, the middle of the day at rest around the
pool or just relaxing. In the late afternoon we join the Kruger Park
Ranger for a night drive into the park in an open safari vehicle.
This is a fascinating experience and offers the greatest opportunity
to see the nocturnal animals and of course the lions and leopards.
After the drive dinner is at a local restaurant.
